报告题目:Sustainable wastewater management systems for small communities 报告时间:11月4日(星期二)下午2:30 报告地点:环境馆2楼讲习室 报告人:Howard Fallowfield教授 Howard Fallowfield教授是应我院李小明教授邀请,于11月3日-8日在湖南大学做工作访问和学术交流。 Basic information for Prof Howard Fallowfield Dr Howard Fallowfield is an aquatic microbial ecologist. He is currently Professor of Environmental Health in the Health and Environment Group within the School of the Environment at Flinders University. Howard has some 25 year’s research experience in the UK and Australia, designing, constructing, operating and evaluating the performance of HRAP pilot plants for treatment of domestic and agri-food wastewaters. He has also conducted research on the large waste stabilisation pond system at Bolivar SA. He has been a member of the Scientific Committee’s for three International Water Association’s Specialist Group Conferences on Waste Stabilisation Ponds and was Chair of the Organising Committee for the 9th IWA Conference held in Adelaide in August 2011; where the Specialist Group was renamed ‘Wastewater Pond Technologies’. He was a member of the NHMRC Working Committee which reviewed the Guidelines for Managing Risks in Recreational Waters. He is also a member of the Society for Applied Microbiology, the International Water Association and the Australian Water Association. He has authored over 170 peer reviewed articles and is co-editor of the textbook Environmental Health in Australia and New Zealand published by Oxford University Press. His research interests include application of naturally aerated, nitrifying biofilters for drinking water and wastewater treatment, remediation of groundwater contaminated with nitrate by biological denitrification and recreational water quality.
